McLaren Celebrates Miami Grand Prix with Custom 720S Supercars

To celebrate the inaugural Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, McLaren Automotive and McLaren Racing teamed up to give fans and customers an unforgettable weekend. McLaren brought five 720S supercars personalized in a McLaren Racing livery-inspired wrap that were used throughout the race weekend for activities like Pirelli Hot Laps and to display at the McLaren Hospitality Suite.

The designs of the McLaren 720S supercars on display were inspired by the livery designs of all three McLaren Racing teams (Formula 1, Extreme E, and INDYCAR). The wraps featured McLaren’s distinctive Fluro Papaya (orange) color with new Blue accents. McLaren has been using its signature Papaya orange color scheme since the 1967 Can-Am season when Bruce McLaren, the team founder, first used it.

The McLaren Racing-inspired livery is the perfect fit for the 720S supercar, which represents the long history of incredible engineering and innovation from the McLaren brand. McLaren Automotive has been creating luxury, high-performance supercars since 2010 in Woking, Surrey, England. The McLaren racing team was founded in 1963 by Bruce McLaren, and has been racing in Formula 1 since 1966. They have won 20 Formula 1 world championships, over 180 Formula 1 grands prix, three Indianapolis 500 races, and the Le Mans 24 Hours race on their first attempt.

McLaren 720S supercars offer dynamic handling and incredible performance from its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that produces 710 hp and 568 lb-ft of torque. Its 0 to 60 time is a blistering 2.8 seconds, and 0-124 mph takes just 7.8 seconds, with a top speed of 212 mph. The 720S also has excellent driver engagement thanks to its active chassis system and aerodynamic efficiency.
